The Black Shabbat, 7/10, left deep scars in the heart of every Israeli and Jew around the world.
IDF soldiers, both regular and reserves, stood on the front lines and endured unbearable sights and experiences.
They saw their comrades fall, their homes destroyed, and their futures changed forever
How will I get a job?
How will I integrate back to normal life?
How will I move on from trauma?
For the past two years, many reservists have served hundreds of reserve days.
They left behind jobs, families, and everyday life.
GVURA is their extended family, helping them heal and rebuild.
GVURA is a meaningful way to bridge the connection between IDF reservists and American Jewish communities.
Working together towards shared goals builds a brighter future for northern Israel.
The GVURA Project offers unique workshops that combine emotional healing, team bonding, volunteer work in agriculture, and a deep connection to nature. These workshops help the soldiers heal, reconnect to their purpose, and engage with Zionist values of unity, giving, and connection to the land. They don't just heal; they contribute to the national resilience.
Our heroes not only fought for this land but are helping with “Tkuma,” or the rebuilding of the land of Israel, and you can be part of that too
The Gvura Association was born out of a deep sense of mission of Jews and lovers of Israel from the Diaspora and Israel, with the aim of standing by reserve soldiers, farmers in the north, and communities in need of a hug in the most difficult moments.
"After the pilot we conducted, we are convinced: the unique blend of the Gvura retreat brings an empowering and moving message. The Gvura retreat is not just a privilege for reserve soldiers - it is an obligation.
Because those who stood for us - must have us stand by their side, with an open heart, with responsibility and love."

GVURA – Born in the Heart of the American Community
GVURA didn’t start in Israel.
It was born here — in the U.S. — out of love, responsibility, and deep connection to Israel’s reservists.
We are building a diverse, national network of supporters:
Jews and Christians, students and professionals, families and faith communities —
all united by one mission: to help Israel’s heroes heal.
Whether through donations, volunteering, sharing, or prayer —
every one of us has a role to play.
They fought for Israel. Now we stand for them.
Together — we bring healing, hope, and strength.
